Can I Use a Different Pie Filling Flavor?

Yes. Peach pie filling makes a tasty variation, and other fruit fillings can work well too. If you try a different flavor, adjust spices and sugar to taste and enjoy experimenting.

Can I Use Fresh Apples Instead of Pie Filling?

Yes. Using fresh apples changes the texture and timing slightly. Choose a firm baking apple like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp. Peel and chop 5–7 apples, toss them with a little extra cinnamon and place them in the bottom of the crockpot before continuing with the recipe.
