3-Ingredient Fairy Bread Recipe: Quick Party Treat

Today I’ll show you how to make Fairy Bread — a simple, cheerful treat kids love. This version is a fairy bread sandwich, which makes it convenient for school lunches or party boxes. A few colorful sprinkles can brighten any child’s day.

Fairy bread is an Australian party classic traditionally made with plain white bread, butter and sprinkles. There are many variations though, and you can adapt fillings and bread types to suit your family. You don’t have to use white bread or butter if you prefer a healthier option.

A fun twist is to use a small cookie cutter to cut a shape from one corner of a bread slice. Hearts are popular, but any shape that fits your party theme works well. The cut-out becomes a little window to show the sprinkles inside.

I often use peanut butter and jelly for these sandwiches, but cream cheese or Nutella are also delicious. Rainbow sprinkles pair nicely with almost any sweet filling.

3. Place the slice with the cut-out on top of the filled slice, aligning the edges. Fill the cut-out area with a thin layer of sprinkles so they sit inside the window.

4. If you make these ahead of time, place the sandwich in a sandwich bag and refrigerate overnight to keep it fresh.
