Having lived in Las Vegas for years, I’ve stayed in and visited many hotels, each with its own character. When I travel I like to try new places, and last week I spent the night at one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen: the Langham Huntington in Pasadena.

With its stunning grounds, tranquil setting, award-winning spa and new services for dogs, it’s easy to see why Disney chose the Langham Pasadena as a location for Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3: Viva La Fiesta!
I joined several other bloggers (and some of their pups) for an event celebrating the movie and the Langham’s new dog services. During our stay we relaxed on the property, dined at the hotel’s restaurants and discovered special offerings designed for the four-legged members of the family.
On arrival I was struck by the property’s size. The hotel sits on 23 acres and offers more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, accommodating groups from 10 to 1,400. If the Langham were in Las Vegas, I’d seriously consider having my wedding there.
Following the map to my room took a moment—the place is huge—but I found a welcome gift waiting for me. A soothing jazz station played on the radio, which helped me unwind after a long trip. (If you’re flying in to stay at the Langham, consider Burbank Airport—it’s about 10 miles closer than LAX and can save you a long drive in rush hour.)
Although the hotel has historic charm, it offers modern amenities like Wi‑Fi and an alarm clock that doubles as an iPhone dock—small conveniences that make a stay more comfortable.
My room included a cozy sitting area with an exceptionally comfortable chair, plus a table with a coffee maker and supplies. I peeked into several other bloggers’ rooms and noted that no two were exactly the same—furniture and layouts vary, so returning guests may enjoy a different experience each time.
When bedtime came, I was thrilled to have a king bed all to myself—luxury after sharing a queen-sized bed at home. Even so, I woke up near the edge of the mattress out of habit.
The next morning we had breakfast in one of the hotel’s elegant meeting rooms, then attended a screening of the new film. After a Q&A with filmmakers and trainers, we lunched outdoors. The gardens are lush and green—an impressive contrast to the desert where I live—and the entire setting felt cinematic, fitting for a property that appears on screen.
After lunch, bloggers who brought dogs enjoyed doggie massages—a new hotel service. Canine massage offers many of the same benefits as it does for people: reduced stress and anxiety, improved circulation and joint flexibility, better digestion and immune support. The dogs I watched were relaxed and clearly enjoying the attention.
The Langham recently launched a Doggie Program to enhance pet stays. For $135 you can upgrade your room to include a Langham pink porcelain pet bowl, a gold mat and plush pink pillow, gourmet dog treats, a doggie door hanger and The Langham Doggie Newsletter with dog‑friendly recommendations nearby. The package also highlights spa offerings for pets—massages, cold stone therapy, yoga ball exercises, paw care, aromatherapy and escorted walks—and the fee covers deep cleaning of the room.
For an elevated experience, the Distinguished Doggie Package adds a Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 plush toy and a “Bow Wow Breakfast” for your pet. Breakfast choices include:

The Langham is an excellent choice for families, business travelers or anyone seeking a peaceful getaway. Between the grand grounds, thoughtful amenities and pet-friendly offerings, I left wishing I could move in—just like the pampered pups in the movie.
